As seen in Taiwan... doggie strollers

Last week one day Kevin and I had a date and we topped it off with a stop for ice cream at Coldstone Creamery. As we were waiting in line (it was very popular that night as they were having a special - buy one get one - yummy for us!), another man walked up to the front of the line, parked his stroller in front, and took a picture or two, as did several other patrons. Here's what I find perplexing about this:
A) the dog is in a stroller, not getting exercise.
B) the man didn't even buy ice cream - he just took a picture in front of the ice cream shop at the mall!

11 months already

Kate is celebrating 11 months in this world on this rainy Friday the thirteenth.

This is what she's been working on this week:

She's getting pretty good, isn't she? SOmetimes I forget that she's not one yet because of the stuff she does and what she eats. I think she's eaten pretty much everything except peanuts and shelfish - two high allergens. (She had strawberries, another allergen, this summer thanks to Grandma and Aunt B.) She also drinks cow's milk on occasion (shh, don't tell the doc...) since she doesn't drink what I pump. Starting today, I'm not pumping anymore at school due to renovations as well as her Germanic refusal unless it's fresh from the source!

I also forget how young she is because she's bigger than so many of the other little Chinese 12-15 month olds that we've met recently. But according to growth charts, she's still in the 90th percentile at about 23 lbs.

She also talks to herself and whoever will listen ALL the time. Although we have no idea what she is saying, we all respond cheerfully with more of Kate language. She loves talking on the "phone". Anything is a phone as long as it fits well into her little paws. She'll wave ba-bye and her other baby sign right now is in response to "who's pretty?" and she'll take both hands and pat her chest, pointing to herself. I'll have to get that on video so you can see it, too. She's just such a ham!

Missing...reward

Three bikers were last seen at 4:10 this afternoon biking in Mei-Ti Riverside park on rented bicycles. Teresa Lin, 32, along with neice Angela Lin (formerly known as Yoyo Lin), age 11, and nephew Keanu Lin, not quite three years old, have been gone for almost 2 hours on what seems to be an extended bike ride. Any information on their whereabouts should be emailed to the Lin family or comments can be left here.

Update: The bikers have safely arrived back at the starting point after a long and grueling ride, especially for a toddler for his first time without his trike! They were gone for 2 full hours and rather than accepting help, this determined novice biker insisted "I'll do it myself."

After the bike trip, Keanu still had energy to run and play ball before passing out in the middle of dinner at TGIFriday's.
