Oh what a wonderful weekend!

We had so much fun this weekend, there wasn't time for taking pictures!

We had fun on the slides, story time at Keanu's school, tennis, fun at the "farm", lots of time at the park, golf, more time on the slide. First of all, it was gorgeous weather. Second of all, it was a long weekend as we "celebrated" 2/28.

The only picture I've got to share is this one. I love it because none of the 8 that I took of all 4 kids on the swing had everyone looking at the camera. In this picture, no one's looking at the camera and everyone's happy doing what he's doing. Second, it's a great picture of Teresa's growing belly! Sure is nice someone else can wear my maternity clothes!

Missing...reward

Three bikers were last seen at 4:10 this afternoon biking in Mei-Ti Riverside park on rented bicycles. Teresa Lin, 32, along with neice Angela Lin (formerly known as Yoyo Lin), age 11, and nephew Keanu Lin, not quite three years old, have been gone for almost 2 hours on what seems to be an extended bike ride. Any information on their whereabouts should be emailed to the Lin family or comments can be left here.

Update: The bikers have safely arrived back at the starting point after a long and grueling ride, especially for a toddler for his first time without his trike! They were gone for 2 full hours and rather than accepting help, this determined novice biker insisted "I'll do it myself."

After the bike trip, Keanu still had energy to run and play ball before passing out in the middle of dinner at TGIFriday's.

Typhoon weekend

Last weekend Taiwan weathered a tremendous typhoon. We all had the day off work on Friday and Saturday was a typhoon day, too. Saturday also happened to be father's day here in Taiwan and in spite of the typhoon, we couldn't get reservations for dinner that night. Instead we had pizza at Yoyo and Chen-Yi's house. We also spent Sunday with them enjoying indoor, dry activities. We spent a lot of time at the Tai-mall in TaoYuan which is basically a 6 or 7-story filled with fun things to do: roller blading, badminton, arcade games, restaurants... the list goes on and on. Yoyo and Keanu enjoyed the arcade style bowling and soccer game (although they didn't do so well with the soccer). Then we had a buffet dinner at the Ponderosa steakhouse!
As you can imagine, it was beyond crowded as the country was being drenched, but overall, it was a good time!

Wednesdays with Yoyo

This fall Keanu and his dad and grandma have spent most of their Wednesdays with Yoyo and her little brother Charlie since she only has a half day of school on Wednesdays. Since I was free this week, I joined the party. Actually, Yoyo came up to our house for a bit, too. After naps and homework, Yoyo and I took Keanu to the park. It sure is more fun to play in the playground if there's a big girl to chase and show you how to do all the scary stuff like crossing the bridge.

Later, we came back to make dinner. Yoyo always seems to enjoy playing in the kitchen, so she made us some homemade pizza! She had a bit of help, but she did pretty well, huh?

What's New?

Ok, so I've been a bit delayed in updating you all on all the exciting things that are happening in our lives. Kevin's been teaching private lessons in the evenings (after the sweltering sun goes down) and during the day he's been Mr. Dad. I just taught a month of summer school, but the term ended this week. We've got a couple of days off before the fall semester starts next Tuesday - we get labor day off, too, I guess. Am I looking forward to the new school year? I guess part of me says yes, and part says I'd rather just hang out with my boys a bit more, like we did today. Today started with a trip to the Dr for a checkup on our little girl and then we spent the rest of the day with Yoyo and her little brother Charlie. It was such a great day of playing in the ball pit, running through the "sprinklers" and swimming that Keanu didn't get around to taking a nap and fell asleep 2 minutes after getting into his carseat at 7 pm tonight. I hope he doesn't decide that 3 am is morning!

Now, back to the morning at the doctor. We got all kinds of good news. Both Keanu (12.3 kg) and baby and I (up 2.3 kg) had gained good weight in the last month. Last time we were there, we had an ultrasound which indicated a little girl, but it also showed a small cyst on her head. The doctor wasn't too worried and said that it's probably nothing (but could indicate trisomy 18)so he'd like to do another ultrasound a month later (now) to check it out again. Well, all looked good on the ultrasound today and the cyst seems to have disappeared like he said it would if there's nothing to worry about. It looks like we've got a healthy baby girl growing inside of me!

Tomorrow we've got another errand in the morning and then a whole weekend without much of anything planned. We'll see what adventures we come up with!
