A tale of two weddings, part 2

On the evening of April 10, we went to another wedding. This was to a family friend (Kevin's dad and the groom Wayne's dad were good friends) and the couple is currently living in SanFrancisco. We think it's kind of fun because this Taiwanese couple had an American-style wedding and Amanda the American had had a Taiwanese-style wedding the same day. Wayne and Samantha got married at a park and restaurant that was a golf course in its former life. Of course the reception and dinner was fabulous, but we really enjoyed the grounds.

There were nice places to take pictures, but I had a really hard time getting my kids to cooperate at the same time. Or maybe I just can't get Keanu to smile nicely... And then Kate got up and ran away.

And Keanu decided jumping off the rocks was more fun than sitting on them for pictures.

Kate enjoyed looking for the fish in the water hazard.

And during the long dinner, the kids got bored and played on the boardwalk with the decorations. All you need are a couple of balloons and you've got a happy camper!

Maybe we'll go back sometime even if there's no wedding.

A tale of two weddings, part 1

On April 10, we were lucky enough to attend two weddings. The first one was for a good friend of mine, Amanda, and her new hubby YuanKuei. Actually, they were married in California last fall so the ceremony this month was the Taiwanese one. Here's the beautiful bride.

And her lovely gown - that she doesn't have to store forever or try to figure out what she'll do with it afterwards since it's rented - a fabulous Taiwanese tradition, I might add!

And then she changed into this gorgeous gown.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the last gown - a brilliant red color that accentuated her already thin waist - as this was the state of my daughter by the end of the luncheon. She'd had a bit of a nap at the beginning, but that just wasn't enough.

Easter Eggs, part 2

OK, so I'm attempting to get caught up on my blogging. I've got a bunch of pics from the past couple of weeks that I'd love to share because these kids are just so cute.

On Easter Sunday we decorated some more Easter Eggs with the cousins Angela and Charlie. First we dyed them with food coloring. Kate really enjoyed stirring the dye with her chopstick.Then we used some cool Easter Egg paint that I'd picked up at Target in February. Keanu's been dieing to paint and I figured this was a good excuse - especially since it wasn't at our house!! The boys had a great time painting, but Charlie's attention span wasn't much longer than Kate's, so that left the two experts to finish the job.

Technical Difficulties

I've been experiencing technical difficulties lately with uploading pictures, so I'm WAY behind on this blog. We're working on getting things back in order and will have more pictures coming soon for your viewing pleasure!

enough?

After waiting for Keanu to finish playing, Kevin asked Keanu, "Can I have a kiss?" At which Keanu rewarded his father with a kiss on the cheek and then promptly asked, "enough?" Kevin's response, of course, was "one more time." After a second peck on the cheek, Keanu asked again "enough?" This time it was enough.

The joke of the weekend is "enough?" for anything we might be getting or doing!
