Keanu: I want to sleep with my basketball.
OK, I put it at the foot of the bed.
Keanu: No, I want it up here. (pointing to his pillow)

(upon waking this morning)
Keanu: Where's my basketball?

Keanu: I want to check my ears (temperature).
Me: OK
(5 seconds later)
Keanu: My basketball wants to check his ears, too.

Monday Mugshots

There's a cool playground in the park right next to the science museum. It has all kinds of hands-on stuff using scientific ideas like periscopes and "telephones". The kids had lots of fun there the weekend before last.

Sickies

The Thursday before last, Kate had her 10 month check-up and shots so Keanu went along for moral support. He came back with a virus - Roseola. Have you heard of it? I hadn't until he was diagnosed last week. He had a high fever for a couple of days followed by a pinkish rash on his back, torso, and neck and he's back in full force now.

Somewhere along the line Kate picked up another bug. She's been coughing and sneezing and phlegmy for the last couple of days, so now she's on meds, too.

Oh the joys of childhood sickness. But aren't they cute here catching some Zzzzzz's together?

ABC's

We decided to do a little crafting around here! Kate was napping this evening so Keanu and I had a good time with glue! OK, so I manned the glue and he manned the cookies. Here's our project:

1. Cut colored paper to the desired size. He just cut an A4 sheet in two.

2. Make a letter or any design you'd like with white glue.

3. Put small pieces of cereal, beans, uncooked pasta, or whatever you've got in your pantry on the glue.

4. Show off your finished work.

5. Take a picture of your masterpiece.

6. Allow to dry.

7. Hang it high on the freezer so little sisters don't pull off the cookes and eat them, glue and all. (I'd actually bought the cookies for Kate, but I didn't read the package and found out afterwards that they're not the kind that melt in babies' mouths. Instead, they're rather a choking hazard and good for toddlers or toddler art projects. -ed.)

How I spend my time... by Kate

Although I've had a bit of a fever and sore throat for the past couple of days, I've been busy! In the last couple of weeks, I've learned a lot and practiced several new skills. Here's how I've been spending my time lately:

Enjoying everyone's adoration when I clap and shake my head "no" and say "baba"

Growing a couple of new teeth so can bite things better (you've gotta look closely to see them on this picture): Playing with my big brother (if he starts to do something, I come over pretty quickly to see what he's doing. He does the same to me and then he takes my toys away and I start to cry):

Eating graham crackers (and grapes, noodles, chicken, apples, peaches and anything else that doesn't require a spoon):

Standing for a couple of seconds before I either grab hold again or fall down:
