Beach Cafe

On one of our many trips to the river, we made a side stop at the beach and found a great beach cafe so this past weekend we made the cafe our destination. The beach isn't really good for swimming due to the volcanic rocks just off shore (and the cooling weather), but we had a great time anyway.

The cafe we hung out at is between the main road and the boardwalk up from the beach. We loved the fact that the tables weren't crowded together. Here's a picture of my matching boys overlooking the ocean.Keanu (and his mom) were happy with the popcorn and iced drinks we ordered.

But the best part was the sand pit that was separated from the rest of the beach. Here's Keanu with his mom (and her growing tummy) before the sand play began.

That was great fun and the establishment even provided the sand toys! There was a water spigot available, too, but Keanu's mom was kind of a stick in the mud about him playing with so much water for fear of him getting completely wet (like I said, the weather is cooling down a bit).

After playing in the sand a bit, the stairs between the restaurant and sand pit became great fun for climbing and running on, too. Don't they look like fun?
